I have thought for a very long time that Portland should have its own supermarket and frankly long overdue well done Tescos for making the investment and providing jobs for Portlanders it of course saves lots of journeys across the water thus the odd price difference is well offset by the fuel saving in long a traffic queue and as Rob has all ready pointed out the price across Tesco supermarkets is in general uniform so if the co-op folded whch it probably will not would make no difference

I am quite impressed with our new Supermarket, and have to say I imagine most people are. Yes, some of the prices are dearer than other supermarkets, but then again some of the prices in other supermarkets exceed the Tesco ones, so I feel it is 6 and two 3s. I have visited a few times and find the atmosphere quite friendly – the car park is well laid out in comparison to that of Asda, over the water. We never voiced an opinion as to whether Portland should or should not have a shop like this, but have to say it’s a job well done and worth waiting for. The shelves have always been well stocked when we’ve been in, (thanks Rob for all your hard work – keep at it) and the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. Thank you for sharing Rob )

You are right there Pete, the cost of petrol is ridiculous…

Tesco and long overdue Portland short changed on so many things and with the ever rising cost to travel it has to be making a difference to fuel tanks not having to que for ages with fuel going through the exhaust with little or no distance covered And it seems to have brought you out of yourself and back to the Rob i know

Not sure they will, as it should be a uniform price in all the same shops in any area, ie, same as Weymouth’s Tesco prices.

Mind you, should that happen, it can’t even be as bad as Co-op was/is and people would just go back to Asda or other.

Rob, this is a superb picture – hasn’t the weather been great today. I can see you are going to have plenty of fun with your new gizmo and so useful too.
