Fading sunlight over Chesil
Portland is soon to be changing again with the seasons, the autumn will kick in very soon no doubt. A nice time of the year, especially the evenings with some great light from the sunsets.
I am already looking out for the birds flying south.
I like autumn, it’s always a nice time of the year, mainly because you see so much change, the other side of the coin to spring, if that makes sense?
We don’t have many clusters of trees here in any real density, the biggest one likely being up alongside new road, (which runs from underhill to tophill) so we don’t see so much of the fallen leaves as many places.
What we do see here though …
… is amazing sunsets, amazing light, and generally amazing views.
Daily.
… Almost, after all it is British weather!
 I know, amazing sunsets here.
We are lucky to have that to enjoy and I look forward to taking some nice photos over this autumn.
Everywhere and anywhere we live, there is something uniquely beautiful there to enjoy, it’s just finding it, luckily for us on Portland it’s not hard to find.

Leaves are already falling into our garden from neighbour’s trees, a sure sign that autumn is upon us. We also have a little Robin in the vicinity, yet another sign. I love the colours of autumn, reds, golds, and browns amd the sunsets are a joy to behold, though this year perhaps the ash cloud from Iceland may have something to do with this. Personally, I find this the prettiest season of the year, a time for reflection on the summer long gone….

Sounds good in your garden.
Certainly do like the golds, red, browns, shows nature does provide us with the best mix of colours.
Would be good to have a big wood on the island though.

Oh a wood would be wonderful Rob. The nearest we come to that I think, would be Old Hill in the Springtime when all the daffodils are out. Another wonderful sight

Yeah, that’s true, ironic it’s the one I mention in the post, it really is the only “patch” of trees we have, that’s not a good thing.
I wonder WHY we aren’t planting more tress here.

I remember those Portland sunsets, something to do with the sea… so beautiful. We have just come back from Pembrokeshire where there were also the same beautiful evenings… when it wasn’t raining xx

I sat outside the Cove on Sunday with a pint of best and an old friend; the sun turned vermillion as it sunk below the horizon, and lit up the thinnest sliver of a new moon. A perfect Portland evening! It’s beautiful where I live now but nowhere can beat Portland.

I did Grab a few pics of the sky colour, must sort them out.
It was stunning, but then it is here when the suns had enough of us for the day.
